Funerals update due to COVID-19

At the present time, the Church of Scotland is advising that no funeral services should take place in church buildings.  In common with other denominations, we seek to restrict funerals to immediate family, minister, and funeral directors.   A committal ceremony at a cemetery, or crematorium, with an intentionally very small number of people present, is preferred in order to prevent large gatherings of people.  It should be noted that many crematoria have the facility to stream services and to host a recording of services for a period of time after the cremation service. The Minister is very willing to hold a memorial service once larger gatherings are possible.  These are exceptional times and we have to do the best we can to mourn our loss with dignity and protect the health of others.
